Hi all, I have been trying to use the setquota command at the command line
without much success or so it seems and it is without doubt me being
totally thick in not understand the syntax provided within the man setquota
provided online for me.
the syntax is told to me to be:
setquota [-u|-g] [-n] <username|groupname> <filesystem> <block-softlimit>
<block-hardlimit> <inode-softlimit> <inode-hardlimit>
Now would this equate to say with a user of : username01
setquota -u username01 /dev/md4 10 10 10 10
To set a 10MB total and maximum specified space for web and email, or am I
missing someing here.
If I login to as the admin within thr GUI is still shows unlimited space for
this user, strange or what have I done wrong.
What is the actual meaning of: block-softlimit, block-hardlimit,
inode-softlimit & inode-hardlimit anyone?
Thanks one and all, especially Jeff Lasman for all of his most recent help.
Later.....
