Actually, after telnetting in as 'admin' you would type
su -
press Enter, then enter your admin password again. Now you will be
root, and by putting the "-" at the end of the su command, your paths
etc will be set properly for root. Otherwise they will be set as the
"admin" user, and you will have to specify a lot of paths in front of
commands that root is able to access directly with the appropriate
search path...

Alternatively, and much debated on the list so I will not choose a side
-- if you have SSH installed (from http://www.pkgmaster.com/ --
recommended as SSH does not pass data (e.g., passwords) in "clear text"
like telnet does), you can edit the SSH config file to allow you to
directly connect as "root" via SSH.
