A quick comparison between Raq550 and Apple Xserve:

L3 Cache: n/a 2MB per processor
Memory: 2GB 133Mhz SDRAM 2GB 266Mhz DDR SDRAM
Storage: Ultra ATA 2x 80MB Ultra ATA 4x 120MB
Max = 160MB Max = 480MB
Networking: Dual 10/100 Dual 10/100/1000 aka Gigabit Ethernet
PCI Slots: one 64bit/33MHz half-l TWO 64bit/66MHz FULL-length
n/a one 32bit/66MHz half-length PCI/AGP
Serial Dual One DB-9
USB one port two ports
FireWire n/a three ports
Graphins n/a ATI PCI Graphics card
optional ATI Raedon 8500 AGP 4x
The above specs speak for themselves... Lets not forget the 1GHz PPC G4
processor will crush the 1.26GHz PentIII anytime... We should not even think
of comparing with the 1GHz P3/256kb L2 cache version of the Raq550!
A single processor Xserve with the above specs and 256MB RAM and 1x 60GB
drive is priced at $2999... Lets see what Sun does with its pricing
Yes, lets, it will be fun.
I am taking bet's on how long it will take for sun to start loosing money
on the cobalt's to compete with apple.
