It's been argued in the past that allowing root login leaves one less layer
of protection. However, I remember at least one instance (CarrieB) that it
could be helpful. eg. / fills up and you can't su - to root. I remember
there being some good articles and discussions referenced in the archives.
You could search the archives or perhaps just go to google and look for pros
and cons of allowing root logins. I think most security minded ppl would
*strongly* recommend against allowing root logins.
