Here's exactly what you have to do:  
1. Buy a good book on MySQL (MySQL by Paul DuBoise / New Riders Press is my constant companion) and read.  
2. Join the MySQL mailing lists (at http://www.mysql.org/documentation/lists.html).

I personally use WebMin to administer MySQL on my Raq, but I understand that phpMyAdmin is good as well.
