ircd is (normally)  irc server program, yes (Internet relay chat) kinda
a weird thing to have running on a web server...

nntpd would be a usenet news server....ditto

You have a lot of listening ports...you running portsentry? If so, the
ports open may be meaningless, as it's just portsentry listening for
interesting things to wander in...
