Your post below is NOT valid. That is my name and
mailing address, but I have not signed up with
anything touting that I made $800,000. It sounds
like one of those pyramid schemes if you ask me.

The post that I originally made to this list has nothing
to do with what you are posting below. I was simply
asking how a RAQ administrator can speed up sendmail.

The reason that I am asking is because I have a LARGE
corporate project that I am working on. I have developed
a "contact management system" in which associates of
the company can send out broadcast e-mail messages to
their representatives. The system will have approx. 1,000+
users joining upon its launch. Each user has about 1,000
records that they will be importing into the system. Some
users have 20,000+ records. The system needs to be capable
of sending 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 e-mails per day.

At present, we have our scripts configured to process the
mail using SMTP. We are bypassing sendmail. The problem
with this though is that the SMTP is timing out after 30 seconds.
It is sending about 1,000 e-mails in this time frame, which equals
approx. 2,000 e-mails per minute. This is the rate that we need
to achieve using sendmail if at all possible.

We have not modified anything in the sendmail files at this time.
The current maximum send rate via sendmail on my RAQ4i server
is about 300 e-mails per minute.

What can we modify in the sendmail file(s) so that it can process
1,000 - 2,000 e-mails per minute?

If you have any helpful suggestions, please post them.

Hmmmm.... someone who knows how to make $800k in less than three
months can't afford better than a RaQ, and can't hire some clue
to run it? :-P

I'd hoped that the request would be legitimate... we've had valid
requests for large mailings, although nothing that size.  I
didn't think that a spammer would be so brash as to ask on-list
how to send more putrescent waste...
