[cobalt-users] [RAQ4] SSL self-cert enabled for admin, now I can't access admin GUI

Hello list,

Here is my first post and it is a real cry for help. I searched the
knowledgebase, the forums, and the archives for an answer to my problem
before turning to you.

I am a new user of the cobalt RAQ4 and I wanted to be a good sysadmin and
setup secure admin using SSL on our main site.

After I followed the RAQ4 manual's instructions to the letter for setting up
a self-signed certificate I was presented with a page seeming to indicate
that it was successful even though the page didn't look like the one
pictured in the manual (shows the certificate ascii blob). This page had
some basic text and a link to "Click here to test new ssl settings" so I
clicked it.

I have tried all variations of:
http://www.domain.com/admin
https://www.domain.com/admin
http://host.domain.com:81/.cobalt/sysManage/
https://host.domain.com:81/.cobalt/sysManage/
 to no avail.

http requests give me a page like this:
> Bad Request
> Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
>
> Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port.
> Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.
>
> Hint: https://www.domain.com:81/

https requests give me a dialog like this:
> "There is a problem with the security settings on this site. Information you
> send may be visible to others in transmission. Continue, Cancel"

When I choose continue I get a terse dialog box with a single OK button
saying:

> "Date decryption error"

When I choose cancel I get a blank page.

I searched the archives and found that "David Lucas" helped his list mate
"flynhi" with a similar issue from early April. However, the issue seems
never to have been resolved.

Now I have fallen into that pit too and I wonder if anyone can help
especially "flynhi" if you solved the problem.

How can I turn off SSL without being able to access the GUI?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My browser is:
Explorer Version: 5.0 (2022) (Release 36)
Encryption: 128 Bit
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Mac_PowerPC)
