Use a separate drive or drive array for mail spool.  Run another
smtpd such as Qmail or Postfix.

You'd be hard pressed with sendmail on a little Cobalt.  Is your
queue filling up?  Any particular reason that you feel you've hit
a brick wall?

A program called bulk_mailer works well.  It groups messages,
feeds Sendmail, and is easy to use.  (I don't recall the
authoritative site.  Google finds several matches, though...)

For extensive high-volume mail, check out most any MLM that runs
on Qmail, Postfix, or Exim.

What specifically are you trying to do?
