If you have control of the server, install SSH, turn off Telnet, get
Putty or some other client and have at it. You log in as admin, then
type su - and the password again, now you are root. Be careful what you
do as root, as you can accidentally screw things up. If you're going to
edit a config file, first do a cp file file.bak to make a backup copy so
you can change it back.
