Greetings!
A few months ago I tried to turn on automated backups via NFS on my Cobalt
RaQ4. While I was never successful, every day it would attempt to set up
an NFS link and the backup would fail. As root, I would get the error
notification via email. I eventually turned it off.
I have noticed lately that there are a number of files in my /tmp directory
that are NFS related. When I try to ls that directory it hangs the
shell. If any process runs a df, it hangs the shell and the process does
not complete. I have to go in and manually kill the process. What's more
is that I cannot delete these files in /tmp. I have not yet tried to
reboot the box.
So, here are my questions:
1. Will rebooting the box clear up my problems?
2. What methods are open to me that would not require me to reboot the box.
3. How do I get the NFS backup to work?
Thanks!
