why weren't any ISPs invited to it?

It was April 23,24,25 at the LA convention center, why you we not invited jeff I could not say :)

where Sun showed up with one miniscule booth, one 1U server, and 1
laptop?

That would be the one.
And Where real (or AOL) tried to put on a big show... They still are the only one that charges a monthly fee for there player :(



Of course there's always going to be an internal struggle between the
Sun group and the Sun Cobalt group, for lots of political reasons, that
have nothing to do with whether either platform will survive in the long
run.

I would disagree jeff, If parts of a company are not working together it will cause problems, this is why microsoft did not want to break the company into parts!
