That is what it will do if the ROM does not contain the netboot code.

Its not a rumour ... its fact ... I have one and Lyle confirmed that my
serial number matched the batch which was before the ROM containing the
necessary netboot code.

At the time I could have Air Freighted my Qube back to the US, but I decided
it was not worth the cost.

Its was designed as an appliance ... there was no expectation that an owner
would need to restore the OS.

More likely, marketing were driving the production schedule and engineering
didn't have the code completed in time so they went out regardless.

Stick the disk in a Qube2, restore it and return it to the Qube 2700WG.
