I have a RaQ4 with roughly 20 virtual sites generating a total of 15.000
pageviews per day. The machine is connected via a 100mbit cable connected
directly to a 1Gbit channel. Download speeds are generally very fast and the
server is "lightly loaded".
However, there is a user complaining that their site has been told to be
slow. The site itself is very light (small pics and light-weight HTML) and
receives 500 hits per day. The site uses MySQL heavily: a less-than 15MB
database with less than 50 tables. Querys are not complex.
QUESTION:
What should I investigate if a user complains that pages load too slowly?
probably the user's technical knowledge, I had one today telling me "our
domain is down" I sent them back a link to LINX looking glass to prove it
was not down, they couldn't understand it..... turns out is was their ISP
at fault... as suspected...
How do I find out the load statistics of MySQL?
install phpmysqladmin
What would be a good way to monitor the RaQ4 loadwise?
http://213.38.74.210/sysinfo/index.php if you like it there is a link
bottom left of the page, nothing to configure, just upload it and away you
go... use opera, separate page for each server, tiled, all set to refresh
every 15 minutes... job done
