What email-related installs, upgrades, patches, et cetera have
you performed recently? When did this first begin happening?
How often does it occur? Under what circumstances?

Like all Sendmail rulesets, canonify is stored in sendmail.cf.
For some reason, the ruleset keeps calling itself; after 50
times, Sendmail has decided that it's in an infinite loop. (If
not, then the address it's parsing is waaay too complex to be
legit, anyway.)

Bottom line: sendmail.cf is broken.

To fix: What recent mail changes? Unless you want to get into
manual sendmail.cf editting (which really isn't that bad once one
is used to it), you're better off just backing out the recent
changes.
