[cobalt-users] Raq3 is down with kernel panic message

Hi,

My raq3i went down today with the LED saying "loading kernel" for ever.
I was able to see the following error message when I connected to the
console:

"Kernel Panic:VFS: unable to mount root fs 0n 03:01"

I have restored my backup into another server. But would like to know the
following :

1) what probably must have caused the error.

2) Can I use same server after reformatting & re-installing the software.

3) If I connect this hard disk to another raq3i server, will it work.

4) Can I connect this hard disk to another linux server & retrieve the files
from /home/spool/mail directory because some of the customer may want thir
latest e-mail. (any body has procedure for doing it)
