Hi Mark,
The key ones to look through are the /var/log/messages and possible
/var/log/dmesg to start with.
Although, if this was yesterday, you'll notice that these logs are today
only, so copy the /var/log/messages.1.gz to /tmp or somewhere else and
extract the file (gunzip messages.1.gz) and then open the file to take a
look.
Look around the time of the crash and if you spot unusual things post to
the list as somebody will be able to identify them for you!
