Actually my degrees are in developmental psychology, but the psychology
I dabble in now is all behavioral. I maintain several resources on the
'net; haven't worked full-time in the field since the MD I worked with
retired a few years ago. We used what some people called "behavioral
medicine" to treat some behavioral disorders masquerading as medical
problems.
No, I haven't seen A Beautiful Mind; just haven't had the time. I'll
see it if/when it comes to a cheap theater and I have the time, or I'll
buy the DVD when it's out.
Why would I be a computer tech?
I've always been fascinated in computers. I've never wanted to only be
able to help people who could afford it.
I ran one of the earliest BBS systems "The fastest board in the west" on
a TRS-80 model I back in the mid to late 70s. I actually built my own
"auto-answer" device to attach to the accoustic-coupled modem, and
bought the software from the man (he was an opera singer at the time)
who wrote the forum software for CompuServe. I heavily modified the
software to avoid string-space manipulation delays; hence "the fastest
board in the west".
