You can try Jabber, it's open source. I installed it on a Debian box, got it
to work sort of, only played with it but I think it should be workable. The
claim is that it will work with AIM, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ to relay between
those IM setups. Forget where they are, just try Jabber on google.
