I've talked with cobalt support and they tell me that the reason my
server is crashing is because my php scripts are using a command called
pgconnect. Which is buggy with the RAQ XTR server. I'm running
Postgres version 7.0.2. They told me that I needed to switch over my
php scripts to use pg_connect instead. They mentioned that it was a
little slower than pgconnect but it worked.
I talked with the programmer that created the sites I have recently
moved to my server and he said with the amount of traffic that these
sites where getting they would be so sluggish that the server would be
under a constant strain.
What do I do? I can't keep baby sitting this thing. It needs rebooted
every few hours. If there is an expert out there that can tell me what
I need I'd be happy to hire thier services. I just can't wait for
Cobalt to get around to looking at my server. It might be weeks!
Please email me back if you know of anything I can do to remidy this
problem.
I currently have the server running 64 connections. I had it higher
before but after about 110 it chokes. So we lowered it to see if that
would help. Now it just dies in 3 hours instead of 6.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
