If you are having problems with the jdbc driver, get the newest version.
See the MySQL web site, www.mysql.org or get it from sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mmmysql/ . I think the newest version is
2.0.12, just released on Sunday. You have to modify Tomcat to allow the
code to have increased access by changing the tomcat.policy.master file. Be
sure not to modify the tomcat.policy file because it is always recreated,
look at the app notes about tomcat/java upgrade from the cobalt web site.
After I installed Tomcat and tried to connect to a large database, 100+ Meg
and over 200K records, I quickly uninstalled it and went back to using php.
