Re: [cobalt-users] Raq4 verses Linux PC

I'm sick of this whining thread, so I'm going to post a few experiences I've
had with cobalts:

My cobalt raq was recommeded from a colo facility that has 4 of them and is
hosting hundreds of sites and swears by them.

I have had my cobalt raq3i for something like 2 years now and it has never
been hacked. I have mysql installed and have a few custom apache tags, but
other than that no modifications. I've never had a problem with any cobalt
patches and the unit has functioned as advertised all this time.

Due to our success with our own cobalt raq, my consulting company has
recommeded them to people who want to host web/email in house. To date, we
have sold 3 units and have had no complaints.

I also maintain NT4 and win2k servers which I can tell you from experience
do require more attention than my raq. In fact, the raqs I
use/sold/configured require the least amount of administration of any server
I've ever installed.

I stand by my two originally stated advantages of the raq over a home built
system:
1. prebuilt, preconfigured system
2. nice tidy pkgs for updates
