Hi,
Firstly a complaint - Did you search the archives for the word swatch??
It'll reply with loads of replies with explanations I'd guess :)
Swatch is the service watcher, that checks things like http/email, etc
on your server to make sure things are running correctly.
If things fail it will try to restart the service, if not it will email
the admin.
If you REALLY want to disable swatch (And this is going against my
better judgement! As I think you should leave it running):
Edit /etc/crontab
Comment out the line that says:
0,15,30,45 * * * * root /usr/local/sbin/swatch >>/var/cobalt/adm.log
2>&1
(Just add a hash # symbol at the start of it)
Save the file
Restart cron: /etc/rc.d/init.d/crond restart
Andy
