[cobalt-users] Billing Software

About a year ago I offered a billing program for users of the cobalt users
list. Due to the complexities involved with distributing a program on a
Windows platform I gave up on distributing it. Since then my needs have
changed considerably and the Microsoft platform proved to be a less then
ideal solution. I have spent the last two months converting it to
Java/mySQL.

Within the next few weeks I will be offering the Java version. Anyone
interested in downloading a copy can send me an email at

is only used to archive cobalt-user list messages.

The Java version is currently a scaled down version of the original program.
The original version was heavy in auto email messaging, had whois, dns
lookups, etc built into the application. I will include all of this in the
upcoming months but for right now its more of a billing program then
anything else.

In theory the program should be runnable on any OS, but I believe the mysql
driver is designed for Windows so I will play it safe and say it requires a
Windows OS. The only other requirement is access to a mySQL database. The
database does not need to run on the same computer as the application.

Internally we are currently using the program with good success but I want
to keep testing it a few more weeks. Once I'm assured that everything is
working correctly I will offer it for download.
