[cobalt-users] Migration Utility and What I found

I asked the other day about the Migration utility and what everyone
thought of it. So for the record here is my experience:

The utility worked great. I did only have a RAQ2 with 1 site and 461
users and was migrating to a RAQ4. I followed the instructions on the
utility and put all of the RAQ4 updates on the server before I started.
I have been reading and learning from this list for the past 2 years and
playing around with Linux enough to understand the very basic commands
needed to do this migration. The only problem I had was that I didn't
get the RAQ4 completely setup before I started to migrate, but I just
went back and finished the setup and reran the migration and everything
worked like a charm. Since I have only a basic understanding or Linux I
had to FTP into the RAQ2 and download the migration folder to a
workstation and then back up to the RAQ4. That probable took longer
than the migration utility. You do have to setup all of the general
server services yourself. All in all it took me less than 6 hours and
very little hassle. I would say that you have to have at least basic
Linux understanding and the ability to follow instructions (RTFM). I
tip my hat to Cobalt on this utility, for my exact need it worked great.
Your mileage may very.

Thanks for all of your help and input. It probably helped most of all.
