[cobalt-users] df and updatedb result in proc state of "D"

I'm having an "issue" on my RAQ that is more of a basic Linux problem not
so much a Cobalt problem that I was hoping I could find some help with.

Last night I received an email from admin indicating that the CPU on my
RAQ was abnormally high.... Upon investigation I found that there were a
number of processes in a "D" state that all seemed to have been spawned by
the slocate update that is run by cron.daily or by me clicking on "Disk
Usage" from the Active Monitor (which runs 'df -k' in the background).

I'm finding that if I manually try to run "df" or "updatedb" the processes
will INSTANTLY go into that state and freeze.. Manual pages define the D
state as:

D uninterruptible sleep (usually IO)

This leads me to believe that I *may* have some file system corruption or
problems, but I don't have any hard evidence to back this theory up with.
I'm very concerned about the stability of my machine right now.

Any thoughts or ideas?
