Part 1
I have to update all that, and pricing too,
just never get the time because we are always
working on other people's stuff.
I have to add TOS, AU and some other stuff...
Yes we are open 24/6 on the printing side but
not design side. Most web presses do work
that often with cleanings or breaks on Sunday.
I am not too much into the details and specs
but WE WANTED to use our cobalt as a gateway
for FILE TRANSFER for print jobs but we're
talking files of at least 5mb to 40mb in size.
Cobalt might be able to handle it but I am
limited to T1 shared with other people and
that will not cut it.
I have to admit that we have some grate pricing
on Printing. Maybe web too. Our challenge
right now is "EVERYONE" wants UNIX now and
mySQL. More secure, cheap and so on.
For me personally is a learning curve to go
into PHP, dump all Micro$oft tools, SQL Serv.
the lovely ODBC and such.
mySQLODBC won't do much, we are used to working
with ASP -> InterDEV or UltraDev by Macromedia.
Part 2
I know there is InterBASE for window and we can
design databases on Windows Platform and work with
the code, when ready is as easy to upload database,
the code and have everything working.
If I recall it InterBASE is release another
version 7.0? where it will cost money. Firebird
will continue to produce free lic. pkgs.
I wanted to hear from someone that runs
Cold Fusion Server and uses CFM code...
How good is it. I'm sure for us will be
allot easier to code and connect to the server
than trying with mysqlODBC...
