Re: [cobalt-users] Pop before SMTP - I've had enough.

Ok - So as the original poster of this item, I'll insert a few items
that might clear out the noise on this topic, although there was some
interesting items in the midst.

My Problem was NOT about relaying.

In this instance, I subscribe to a list called, eg "The Christian Blue
Washing Machine Sufferers Collective"

Once a month, they send me an email magazine. However, when their server
tries to send it to me, MY server responds with the relaying denied message
.. check your mail.

This is the normal use of SMTP. I could understand a plain "relaying denied"
if "The Christian Blue Washing Machine Sufferers Collective" tried to send
to others through my box, but they are'nt. This email item was addressed to
me.

Some of you are close to the answer I THINK. Charlie Summers seems partly
right with view that some POPb4SMTP RPM's change ALL the messages, both for
local users, (check mail first ..) and prospective spammers trying their
luck.

Whatever ... there should be no denial (de nile !!) for email items whose
destination is a domain on the box .... and here's the rub. For one brief
moment in time, and I mean one brief moment, it wouldnt accept mail for its
own domains.

Now Bradley .. was it missing from the Domains Aliases or something ....>>
naaah ... I touched nothing and its OK now, ... I think ... until Monday or
Tuesday.. on Sunny April Daze ... When she's sulking??

Jeff Lasmans offer to fix my problem .. for a fee .. with a smile?
Benedicts comment about commercial advertsing from Jeff?? Relax Mr 'B'.
Jeff has been around longer than I have on this list and he has paid his
dues. Besides, he cheers me up, along with a few other noble souls. Anyway
see my sig.

Lastly but not least .... I understand that Sun/Cobalt will be bringing out
OS3. This will fix ALL our problems overnight. It's due on Monday

Blessings
