Ah, okay. Yes, that makes sense.

Yes, that is. I just wanted to combat the common misconception
that "an OC3 is 100x as fast as a T1".

Beyond saying "yes", I'll catch you off-list. Anything more
would be a plug more shameless than even I'm comfortable
making. *grin*
In fact, it's not unreasonable to segment one's own machines from
one another in certain circumstances. With good switches readily
available for < $100/port, it can be cheap insurance.

The up-front fees aren't bad. I've been toying with a new
building that's in a good location for one particular market at a
good price... and would probably require $70k on top to make it
suitable. Compared to monthly, however, the up front fees are
pretty tame.

$5000/mo buys a chunk of colo, several DS1s, or a frac-DS3.

Yup. Of course, if this keeps up, we may as well rename the
thread to "Eddy and Jeff give advise, with several plugs thrown
in". *smirk*
> Yes. But how do you find the right ones? Any suggestions?
Someone on NANOG had a pretty good post the other day. Let me
dig it up and repost here; it's already public domain.
