Jeff,
Let me start by stating that I think Cobalt's are the coolest thing since
Sliced Bread. Having said that and since you opened this can of
worms.........
I agree, I don't have any boxes that are "under warranty"! Isn't that what
I agree to when I sign that "doohicky" for the man Dressed in Brown that
knocked on my Door? You plug the thing in and you VOID the warranty. Don't
You? <g>
I understand the warranty. When something IS really broken, Sun is usually
pretty good about replacing/fixing it, even though they answer the phone
"Thanks for calling Sun, Oops Sorry that voided your warranty, how can we
help you".
Warranty or Not, they are "Usually" pretty easy to work with.
and Oh Yell..... I usually VOID the warranty before I plug my Raq's in.
First thing I do is swap out the HD and RAM. The New 20gb Drives usually go
into one of my older Raq3 boxes and the 4i gets a 40gb, or 60gb Drive. Some
of my new 4i's get (2) 80gb drives and Instantly become a 4r. (It's Magic
!!) Every 4i gets two matching 256mb RAM chips from Crucial.

I'd bet that most of us are running boxes well out of warranty, Bruce
<smile>.
