I haven't either.  But at some point a few versions ago, the apache
authors decided to treat all the *.conf files equally.  While by
convention we put things in specific files, actually apache's
maintainers now say to put everything in httpd.conf.

Since they all work the same, you should be able to put them into any of
the .conf files, and they should still work.
