This simple way does not require any changes to the httpd.conf. Say the
server is bar.com and the as yet unresolved domain is foo.com. Create a
virtual server foo.bar.com and put the site in /web. As soon as the DNS is
changed just edit the site settings to www.foo.com. Any users you make
during development can remain as they are.
