Via SSH, (don't use Telnet, install SSH), you simply first cd
/location/of/file
then cp file.ext file.ext.old so you have a backup on the server.
You should have uploaded the file if you edited it locally to some
directory, e.g., /home/sites/home/web so while still in
/usr/admserv/html/coobalt/ you just do
cp /home/sites/home/web/file.ext file.ext and it replaces the file. Be
sure, if it's a text file to upload in ASCII and make sure you didn't
introduce and line wraps. I prefer NoteTab Pro, <www.notetab.com> but
any text editor will work. Don't use MS Wordpad.
If there's a problem, you can always cp file.ext.old file.ext to put the
original back.
This can be very important if you work with any .conf file that may
affect FTP and stop you from uploading.
