I was just asking the question here because of the remote possibility that the Cobalt conf files may need to be adjusted in order to make it work (not the case). I don't suppose you've ever spent hours trying to figure out something and it turn out the server was just not setup for it? I believe if it has to do with ANYTHING concerning something functioning properly on a Cobalt server, then it is Cobalt related. Especially given the Cobalt way of things.
The favicon.ico thing is a strange one to get working if you've ever bookmarked a site prior to adding the ico file to the server. When I first installed it on my server, I had to completely move my favorits file, flush my cache, delete all instances of any previous bookmarks and then reboot and it worked. It would show in the fav's file as well as on the address bar. Then the machine hung one day and I had to do a reset button reboot and they now only work in the fav's file and not on the address bar.
I read somewhere that the cache that they reside in is not exactly the same as your browser cache and it's extremely hard to flush the default "E" thing. Also, I've found that they only seem to work with IE and not NS or AOL or any other browser.. (I've only tested those three)
They are nice and do seem to add a professional look to a site. It was entertaining for me when I could see them. Now if someone can come up with a method to *really* flush the cache!
