Yes.  They run on different ports and don't interfere with one another.

If it's the version you want.  If it's not configured the way you'd like you
can always uninstall it.

Both PostgreSQL and MySQL have their pros and cons.  If you're not familiar
with PostgreSQL you should probably stick with MySQL.  PostgreSQL is more
feature rich, but working with it is more complex than working with MySQL.
Visit the main site for each and read about their functionality to
understand what features are in each.  Keep in mind that Cobalt's backend
uses PostgreSQL so do not delete it or turn it off.
