I have noticed an odd thing on my server. I noticed that although the domain
in question only contains approx 30 email accounts, the "number of email
senders" listed in the email log stats is currently at about 925 users, and
climbing by about 100 users a week.
Other domains on the same box (single IP, Name based resolution) dont seem
to have the problem as bad. How does it detect/compute this number? Should I
be concerned, or is this normal?
I started digging after seeing a thread several weeks ago regarding yahoo's
new spam filtering policy, and noting that although the parent domain of the
server is only used by one email sender (me), email from my domain(s) is
still getting sh-canned by them, presumably due to "spam". This could also
be just be one of my other users bouncing too many emails off non-existent
yahoo accounts, as they now use that as a criterea for determining if a
domain/server might be a spammer or not.
I have already tested the server, and it appears to NOT be an open relay.
Nothing in the GUI looks odd, and so far I havent been able to make any
sense of the log file that I downloaded.
thanks for the help,
Roy
