Having just performed a CMU restore, I have a couple of comments.
Whilst most of it worked pretty well, I have had a nightmare
restoring various add on bits and pieces. I know that it is only
supposed to work for the standard build but I thought it would be
helpful if it could also add my mods.
If I could simply create a modification log somewhere, which listed
the changes made to the standard files, I am sure the CMU could be
re-jigged to take this into account. For example to enable ETRN, the
sendmail.cd file and the mailertable.db are changed. If these two
files names appeared in the log, the CMU would then be prompted to
copy these over.
Indeed if PKG files also wrote their modifications to this file, I
could see at a glance what changes have been made to the standard
server.
Maybe Daniel's legendary raqbackup.sh script could take this into account?
Anyone else got any other ideas?
