RE: [cobalt-users] proftpd.conf file being overwritten.

Thanks Brian,

Does it get all the config info from the the postgres database ?

We are editing the file manually via command line, only the user is using
the GUI to add new virtual sites, users etc.

John,

It gets over written because of Cobalt's GUI. Any time you make a change in
it, it reflashes all of your configuration files. So basically, anytime you
make a change to a config file, and then configure it in the GUI, you
destroy what you did. Solution is simple: DO NOT DO IT IN THE GUI. Or
write a script to parse the config, and add your stuff back in.

Hi,

I hope someone can help. We had a question

Q: How can you change the default login path for the site admin user to the

site web directory?

And found the answer on the knowledgebase
http://cobalt-knowledge.sun.com/cgi-bin/kbase.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php

The problem that we have now is that the file proftpd.conf keeps getting
overwritten and we cant work out why.

 Any ideas ?

 Thanks

 John
