The LCD panel we use does not have "open source" drivers, and we are not
allowed to distribute the source for the various applications.

The contents of the /etc/lcd.d directory are just subdirectories and
shell scripts. The directory names are what appear in the LCD as the
options, and the script in a directory are executed when you hit the "E"
button to choose an option.

Poke around in /etc/lcd.d and you'll figure it out pretty quickly...
