Hi,
I've recently been interested in upgrading my Qube2 RAM from the standard
16Mb it has currently but I'm appalled at the cost of memory for these
things...
128Mb of RAM from Crucial here in the UK will set me back over $135 and I've
been told by Crucial if I wanted 32 or 64Mb of RAM it would cost me even
more because they are no longer made in such quantities.
So, has anyone on this list found a reliable and cheaper alternative in the
UK ?
In a related issue, I've found, after much rummaging through my old PC
spares, a 32Mb 72-Pin 60ns EDO stick which is recognised by the Qube and
gets through the tests ok but... the only info I can find on this RAM so far
suggests that the actual memory chips on the SIMM are 5V, not 3.3V as
suggested in the knowledge base.
Is there any loop tests I can run on my Qube to test the integrity of this
RAM ? My Linux skills are lacking but eager to learn!
Cheers,
