RE: [cobalt-users] telnet-ing

Fadel,

It is because the reverse lookup takes about that time to time out. When an
incoming FTP/TELNET tries to establish a connection on a Unix/Linux system,
it needs to do a reverse lookup. (IP -> HOSTNAME). If you want to fix
that, in your
/etc directory, there is a file called "hosts".

Add your IP address into it

192.168.100.50	host.domain.xxx

Hi,

Has any one had a problem where it takes over a minute to telnet into a
cobalt RaQ 4?

Thanks

Fadel
