I've got the following desktops here: WinNTSP6a, Win2KPro, RHL7.1
Professional (because the version you buy includes a full Adobe Acrobat;
cheapest way to get it <smile>), Windows 98, MS-DOS 6.2/WfW3.1, etc.,
usw.

What about us Windows haters <wry grin>. I think Mandrake, when it
first came out, was RH, but compiled for Pentiums. Was that true? Is
it still? Are there reasons to switch? I don't really love RH (it's
not unix enough <wry grin>) but I use it because it's similar to
Sun/Cobalt Linux. What are your significant reasons to prefer
Mandrake? I think onlist is okay; I think a lot of us are interested in
having Linux desktops. (Note though I'm changing the subject)

The current StarOffice still takes up the entire desktop; I don't like
that. I'm waiting for the new one to get out of beta and go on sale;
then I'll be one step further in switching to Linux for much of my work.
But I still use a lot of software not available for Linux, including
stuff I wrote myself in DataFlex years ago, and PageMaker.
