I gave up trying to install OS update 2 via the GUI using the "from
location" option and ftp'd it directly into the packages folder on my
server, ie from the shell.
Once this had been done, the package displayed in the GUI and the update
went flawlessly;

[root /root]# cd /home/packages
[root /root]# wget
ftp://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/raq4/eng/RaQ4-en-OSUpdate-2.0.pkg
