The article is very general. It is not very specific. If I told you I saw a green computer there, does that now mean that all Cobalts will now be blue or all the other Sun products will now be green. It could be that it was painted green to keep track of it. And that was all. The article does not say where the version of Linux will be used. On future appliance units? On Sun Linux machines? Both? Probably on the Sun Linux machines. The appliance machines have much removed for the non Linux admins using them. Yes there are a lot of others using them that know more. One of the most interesting things of late was a comment here on the list recently by one of the Cobalt Tech guys. He said that a majority of the Cobalt boxes were sold to hosting companies. If this is so, why is the box still so closed. Most hosting companies have people that can administer them. Who knows, lets see what happens over the next year. The big problem is that if people stop buying and wait. Sun needs to tell us where things are going so we can stay on ship or move elsewhere. If we just wait, sales go down. Or do sales go down because they won't announce any concrete plans for the Cobalt line and we go with someone else who will state their position for the future.
