[cobalt-users] .htaccess oddity

I've password many directories without problem. Seems like when I'm
trying to do the same to a few recently created directories, the
.htaccess doesn't work. Yet, I create a new directory, do the same,
and it works. Is there something "wrong" with the directory? How can
I tell what's going wrong here?
Seems like anytime I have our co-location techs touch the machine,
something else goes wrong.
Very frustrating...and yes, I've bought a few "learn Redhat Linux"
books and have been reading vigorously...tired of being in the
position of not knowing.
Thanks.
Caryl
