Re: [cobalt-users] Raq4 OS Update2 - Can I come out to play now?

Originally i did. but i'm sure i have a good copy of OS Update2 now. still problems trying every possible way to upload.

Shell install gave me the most hints:
[root packages]# /usr/local/sbin/cobalt_upgrade /home/packages/RaQ4-en-OSUpdate-
2.0.pkg
error reading information on service networker: No such file or directory
mv: /etc/sysconfig/nsr*: No such file or directory
4015 Problem installing package component: cobalt-locale_en-4.3-raq4.i386.rpm
4015 Error in installation script upgrade_me

...so... i uninstalled (from newest upgrades backward) a few pkg upgrades. NOW i get this:

[root packages]# /usr/local/sbin/cobalt_upgrade RaQ4-en-OSUpdate-2.0.pkg
4015 Please install RaQ4-All-System-1.0.2-9882 or later
4015 Error in installation script upgrade_me

there never was a RaQ4-All-System-1.0.2-9882 was there? I did have RaQ4-All-System-1.0.1-9882 installed, but after uninstalling it won't let me install again. (Notice the PDF file info on OS Update2 also mentions that RaQ4-All-System-1.0.2-9882 is required). I don't think the "....1.0.2....." ever existed.

Kind of an interesting point. Cobalt seems to re-release updates and not tell anyone. 9882 is in the download list as of June 2001. My download file is dated July 2001. The file available from the Cobalt ftp is still 1.9.1-9882 but it is now date 20011007. Sorry I can't help with your particular problem, but your point is well taken. They say you have a prerequisite of a file and it is not even available. (BTW - the update installed almost flawlessly for me. just the resolv.conf.5 problem)

now i'm afraid i've got updates out of order. what a mess.
