i don't understand why sun didn't install the latest software on this
machine. anyway can someone post a 1-2-3- type Basic Step of how i
put all those friggin patches on my machine.
Mark,
Please be somewhat responsible for your own needs instead of expecting the
list to do it for you. I appreciate the fact you're new, and trying to
learn, but if you want help you need to drop the attitude, be a little more
humble, and above all help YOURSELF. I'm not attacking you, you just need to
take it down a few notches. I just bought my first RaQ just last year, but I
read everything I could fine online, and poured through the archives
forever, before I posted here for the first time. And if I do now, you can
best your last dollar it's because I haven't been able to find the answer
myself after an exhaustive search.
First and foremost, read the manual. Cover to cover. Twice. (Yes, I've done
it, as have all of the regulars here. Everyone tires quickly of answering
questions that the poster could have answered himself with 2 mins in the
manual.)
Use the archives. Go to Google, do an advanced search, type in your terms
and search on the domain 'list.cobalt.com'
Search the Sun Knowledgebase or Support Forum
Read the Cobalt RAQ forum on webhostingtalk.com
Make a list of bookmarks for all of the RaQ resources on the Web. Here's a
start:
http://www.baltimoremd.com/cobaltfacts/sitelist.html
http://www.uk2raq.com/raqfaq/
And yes, it's point and click simple to install the updates. But see, that's
why you've created a problem for yourself. Regardless of how you see
yourself, you come across as rather clueless, yet you berate others for not
being a real ISP like yourself. So like it or not, just give up and be nice,
and everyone else will be as well (save the occasional jab). Eventually
you'll be answering questions here one day...maybe. If you can't be nice, go
away. It's that simple!
Finally, lay off Jeff. While his constant <grins> <smiles> and <wry grins>
are admittedly annoying, he means well. Honest. (j/k, Jeff!)
Brandon
