Hi Yah,
Scenario...
Taken over a server in a US based collo who offers back up services :)
Set-up via through GUI & FTP to another server in centre.
Problem is that the allocated space is now full and cron is crying out that
backup isn't done. Collo says they can no longer allow access to their
backup servers, which means I can't get access to clear off some of the
older backup archives so that the GUI backup can continue. I'm currently
trying to get them to at least allow SFTP access for me.
Questions are...
I know that CMU will allow backups but only to a server on the "network" -
Is there any other viable solution available to me for backing up my server
daily to another 3rd party server outside the network. I could set up a
script or get a program that'll allow me to upload a locally backed up file
to my machine but where we are situated in New Zealand the exchanges aren't
geared up for ADSL so I'm only on a dial-up 56K connection - so backing up
that way is a no no - too long to do.
Any decent solutions or comments more than welcome :)
Regards
Chae
