Apologies for assuming you didn't check there first.

I didn't mention that I'm running version 3.1.19 of mnoGoSearch on my RaQs.
I've been running it on the RaQs for a couple of years (back when it was
known as udmsearch) and I *think* that the Alias command was in older
versions and I'm almost positive it hasn't changed in versions newer than
what I'm running (IIRC I ran into problems installing 3.2.3 a month ago and
tabled the installation), but you should check the indexer.conf-dist file
and doc/ directory of the distribution you're using for more info. I am
using the Alias command successfully on a couple of installs on RaQs. I'm
also using a couple of handler programs (catdoc, xls2csv, etc.) to convert
pdf, doc, xls and rtf files from external sites to text on the fly which is
very, very slick. I'm a big fan of mnoGoSearch.
