[cobalt-users] Problem with Java and MySQL

Hi,

we habe a problem with Java Servlets and a mysql-connection.

If we try to connect to the mysql-database locally it works (via SSH-Shell
any mysql-command)

if we try it via the servlet it fails:

java.sql.SQLException: Cannot connect to MySQL server on
mysql.dettingen.cmo.de:3306. Is there a MySQL server running on the
machine/port you are trying to connect to?

is there any security thing we must configure in Tomcat to allow access? The
DB-Server is a own machine, not localhost.

Any hints, suggestions and help will be nice
